Well, whether we like it or not the economy is opening back up. Most cities are either into Phase 3 of opening or in some cases, like New York, are just now starting the reopening process. What that means is that there will be more things to do that get us out of the house. Of course, I'm all about being cautious but expect that my husband and I will start to accept more invitations and start planning a few trips again soon. You know what that means right?! Shopping time!
Recently I've stumbled on to a few awesome dresses that will rotate in and out of my wardrobe over the next several months and I want to share them with you.
Let's start with this little lady from White House Black Market. She can go from party to party and keep you looking chic and feeling cool. I have to say, I love a fitted bodice and a full skirt any day.
The full bodice will leave everything tucked in and the full skirt is ready for all your dance moves. The Palm Print Midi dress would be great for weddings, brunch, or a night on the town with your love and right now she is 40% OFF!!
Next up is this little number I picked up at Nordstrom. It's made by ASTR the Label, a brand I really love, as I wore one of their dresses to get married in. The thing that I love the most about this particular dress is the cut and the details. First off, the cut is heavenly. It has the cold shoulder detail that I'm ALL about because it hides that one particular spot on our upper arms that we really don't like.
Ya'll know the area I'm talking about, the jiggly area. Well, the lower part of the sleeve covers this area expertly and I LOVE it! This dress would be beautiful on every body type because of all the details: The asymmetrical cut of the skirt, the frilly graduated hem, and the scoop neckline that are all are built in to show a little here, a little there, but not too much. The bodice is quite fitted so I can wear this without a bra but if you need more support, a strapless bra would work fine.
Now this little gal...she's a show-stopper in my book. Red, white, and black, flowy, and simple, she would make a welcome addition to any backyard barbeque going on over the 4th of July holiday!
PS: I don't get any financial incentive to link you to this dress, but I love her and think that everyone should have one!
I like that she has a high neckline and is high waisted, meaning that the tie belt hits above your natural waist so for any of the ladies that want to keep the attention away from your waistline (like me!) then the flowy skirt hits perfectly where you want it to.
For this look, I added some Kendra Scott earring from last summer, but they are sold out so I've linked a few similar pair here and here.
A simple kitten mule, like these from Steve Madden are the perfect accompaniment to give this dress that va-va-va-voom!
Throw in a white bag from Asos, some cool Eartha Kitt style sunnies, and you're off to happy hour looking stunning and feeling nice and cool in this flowy number.
Last, but certainly not least, this awesome linen dress from Express is Da Bomb!
Wonderful, breathable linen in Texas is the absolute best! I wrote a full post about how to style this fab dress here if you'd like to read it.
I'm wearing the olive color here but it's sold out because this fantastic gal is on sale right now for 40% OFF!! It is still available in a beautiful rust color or a sandy, beige color. And let's talk about the details. The bow tie detail at the bust says sexy and confident!
And did I mention the pockets? Whomever that first designer was that put pockets in that first dress, bless you!
I've added some cute floral mules for this look, which are from last summer, but will link a few similar shoes I'd wear with this here and here. This look is simple and stylish.
Now, you know there's no way that I would write an entire blog without mentioning a BLAZER, right!?
This fantastic blazer from Express is making the rounds again to pump up the style level of this cute little dress.
Add some gold arm candy, a pair of gold hoops and a sweet little off-white bag and you're ready to take this gal from daytime chic to night time diva!
Cheers loves! XOXO
Yay! Summer dresses!
