About Me
Hello, I'm Lisa
Welcome to Prints and Pinots! I'm happy to have you here.
What can I tell you about Lisa?
Well, first and foremost, I am a long time Austinite, a retired veteran, a dog mom, and recently I was lucky enough to marry the love of my life after 25 years of dating.
I'm also an aspiring writer, an entrepreneur, a wine lover, a small business owner, a classic rock lover, a world traveler, an interior design geek, a clothes horse, a shoe hoarder, and a fantastic sister & aunt, & friend.

About Prints & Pinots
How did this crazy idea of doing a lifestyle blog get hatched? Well, it's been brewing for a few years and to be honest, I just didn't know if there was a "space" for me in the blogosphere. I mean, I'm no spring chicken, so I wasn't sure if there would be people interested in anything about me like how I dress, where I shop, where I travel, etc.
I retired from a long military career in 2015, and really didn't know what to do with myself, but knew that for many years I'd received compliments on my style and after retirement I had many women colleagues call to ask me for fashion advice as they made the transition from career soldier to corporate America.
After some research and thought I came to the conclusion that there is indeed a space for me out there so hopefully, like the line in A Field of Dreams, "if I build it, they will come."

I knew after the military that corporate America wasn't for me but I wasn't sure how my years of experience in the military would play out against a backdrop of techies and creatives in Austin so I decided to going back to school and get a degree in Social Media Technology and Communication. Soon after, I hung out my shingle and started my digital media marketing company, Double T Marketing Agency, which led me here.

After spending five years now helping small businesses grow their brands I really wanted to focus more on something that was fun, creative, and showcased my ability to throw something on and head out the door while looking oh-so-chic.
I love clothes and feel that women "of a certain age" can still look sexy, chic, and pulled together without looking like they pulled something our of their daughters closet or couldn't bother changing out of their house coat.

I love bold prints and patterns, love mixing textures as well as daytime & nighttime pieces, and think that heels can be worn with just about anything.

I love where I am in this stage of life, and am happy and comfortable with who I am however, we all have those "things" right? Those things that we could do without. Well, my "thing" is menopause.
So, let's talk a little about that shall we? Our constantly changing bodies can pose some problems for us gals as we try to look good and feel confident, while trying to hide the things we're working on, but also accentuating the things that make us feel good about ourselves, because let's face it, menopause sucks.
I will show you how I dress for success so that you too can show up to that graduation ceremony, baby shower, wedding, or even a backyard bar-be-que looking good and feeling confident.

The things that I won't talk about? Well, I'm not a mother so I won't be passing out any parenting advice. I won't discuss all my makeup tips and tricks because honestly, I don't have any. I've been a minimal makeup person for many years and just know what works for me.
I will however, share all types of skin care and anti-aging products that I've tried and I will also discuss my love of wine and share with you some of my favorites.

And finally, if you follow along and stick with me, you'll see the ever evolving, love/hate relationship that I have with my hair.

Thanks for taking this journey with me.
