Hello ladies & gents! Hope this finds everyone happy & healthy. I am sitting at home, college football on in the background, writing blogs and sipping mimosas, and with this being my favorite time of year, completely happy and satisfied. Now, let's talk fall fashion.
Many summer seasons have come and gone with this age old question still hanging in the air, "Can I wear white after Labor Day?". My answer is....a resounding yes! Of course you can! There really are no rules anymore when it comes to fashion, especially when it comes to personal style. Florals with Stripes, yes. Leopard print with Camo print, absolutely. And yes, white after Labor Day.
Starting with my go to favorite White Jeans (20% Off right now) and the ever popular White Baby doll Cami ( still 30% Off ) from Express, we can style this basic layer up for fall and into winter.
As the weather starts to dip into the 70's, adding a cardigan sweater, and trading out your sandals for some booties, is a great go to option. I love this Color Block Cardigan from Amazon.
It is lightweight, comes in 12 different color styles, and it is long, which helps to disguise my ever increasing backside. :) (Hello Covid pounds!)
My White High Heeled Booties are from last season and have a 3 1/2 inch heel but if you aren't a heel person, This Pair from DSW will surely fit the bill AND be easier on your pocketbook.
My Gray Felt Hat is a favorite brand of mine, Brixton, from Nordstrom. You know I love my hats and I feel that adding a felt hat just helps to UP the fall feel of this ensemble.
Next up is White and Camel. This color combo is all over the place for fall and I'm here for it!
I love adding leopard print in with my camel & white ensemble as well, and these Leopard Print Loafer/Mules are just perfect to add warmth to this look.
This Puff Sleeve Cardigan Sweater from Abercrombie & Fitch gives me all the feels with the sleeve drama and the coziness factor and it looks great with the leopard print flats.
In the above photo I've added this on trend Pouch Bag from Amazon, which comes in 12 different colors and is all the rage right now.
You can also throw a Large Tote over your shoulder in that same rusty/brown color and this one is pretty awesome because its reversible to black as well, giving you two totes for under $50.00!
Another fall print that will jazz up this basic combo is snake. I LOVE this snake print duster that I bought at Express last season, but it's sold out so I've linked a very similar one HERE from Asos.
They are both lightweight so perfect for temps in the 70's, but still very fall-ish feeling, especially with the aforementioned booties and gray hat. I've thrown a Snake Print Cross Body Bag that I picked up at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but I am also linking THIS ONE that I've had my eye on with a really cool snake buckle, for much less at Express.
Another fabulous choice would be to throw on some faux suede in the way of a Super Cool Moto Jacket.
This jacket is super soft and comes in 4 colors; this is a beautiful taupe color. It looks great with the same blank white color palette. I've added another one of my hats, this White Felt one is from Amazon.
When it starts to get a bit cooler outside, switch out the booties for the Taupe OTK Boots that I keep talking about, and add Turtleneck Sweater under the jacket and you're warm and cozy and oh so chic. Adding a long necklace and a cross body bag cinches the look.
I don't know about you but I am looking forward to fall temperatures and all the things that come with them. The changing leaves, football (yay!) pumpkin spice lattes, the smell of baking in the house, my birthday (I'm a Libra baby), Halloween, and of course....Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday of the year.
Finding ways to keep your summer staples in your fall fashion rotation not only saves you tons of money, but it gives renewed life to items that you thought would need to be relegated to the back of your closet until those flip flop days of summer return.
Until next time dolls!
Cheers! XOXO
