It's a Plaid, Plaid World

Hey lovelies!!! How's everyone doing? We are well into September now and soon enough those temps will drop and the jackets will come out. One of the big trends for fall this year is plaid. Plaid jackets, sweaters, pants, it's everywhere and of course, I'm all in because hello...my blog is called Prints and Pinots! A good plaid print can truly enhance a fall ensemble and I'm here to show you how to style one of my recent purchases, a plaid blazer. Off we go.....

Up first, the turtleneck and jeans look. I love wearing a turtleneck under blazers because it not only gives added interest to your neckline, but it gives a textural look to the lapel of the blazer.

This blazer was a recent purchase from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and one of the reasons I like it is because of the longer length that hits right above these fab OTK Boots that are on sale right now for 30% Off. (Use code FALL2020)

Style tip: When I wear long sleeves under a blazer I like to push my blazer sleeves up so that you can see the sleeves underneath, especially if the sleeves have anything interesting going on.

In this look I've pulled on a pair of black faux leather leggings that I also picked up in the #NSale and then paired them with these scrunch booties I found on Amazon. Up top, I've pulled on this simple, plain white satin blouse; something that, in my opinion, every woman should have in their closet. It is perfectly versatile and a great layering top.

In this look I've got those fab boots on again but this time paired with this $15.00 pencil skirt and a tie neck blouse, both from Amazon. The skirt is a midi length but I've pulled it up to above the knee because of the boots and folded it over at my waist to make it appear shorter. Topping it with the loose fitting blouse hides the fold and waa-Laa, you have a shorter version of a pencil skirt to wear with the OTK Boots.

With this ensemble I wanted to be a bit more casual, but still have that "dressed up" look. I added this $10.00 puff sleeve blouse (with my blazer sleeves pushed up) the same fab boots, and then a designer dupe belt, just for some added OOMPF.

The Pouch Bag is from Amazon, and the felt gray fedora is a favorite brand, Brixton, from Nordstrom. This outfit is ready to take you from casual friday at the office straight to happy hour or, if you're still working from home, it would be perfect for brunch with your gal pals.

HERE is a link for a more budget friendly Plaid Blazer that comes in 6 different color combos.

All in all, if I was going to make five new purchases for fall I would get a great pair of knee high or OTK Boots, a form fitting turtleneck sweater, a ruffle sleeve or puff sleeve blouse (for layering), a great new bag, and a plaid blazer.

Until next time.....Cheers!

XOXO
